The Valley Needs EMTs!
Marc Adler, the survivor of a horrendous auto accident, joined Ron for this edition of Valley NewsLine to explain the need for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) here in the Valley. Flying in all the way from California, Marc described his very near-fatal accident in 1999, where he was practically severed in half, and where he would have died if not for the minute-to-minute actions of EMS personnel who came on the scene to save his life. Marc thanks God and the EMT personnel all over the country for the little-thanked and under-appreciated life saving services rendered by the men and women in this industry.
Also on this broadcast were Dr. Beto Alanis, the Emergency Medical Director for Knapp Medical Center and the Medical Director for Med-Care EMS in McAllen, who gave his description of his life starting as an EMT and working his way to be a full-fledged Emergency Physician, and Monica Silva, the Paramedic Field Training Officer for Med-Care EMS in McAllen.
Marc Adler is also the CEO of a company that is helping to treat people who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), an under-recognized yet HIGHLY common disorder caused when people experience trauma-based stress at any time in their life (the attacks of 9-11, death and destruciton on-the-job involved with police, firefighters, EMTs, etc.).
