Was Lawsuit Reform Beneficial?

June 13, 2004

With a reward given Thursday, June 10, to the Valley's Texas State Senator Eddie Lucio for his efforts in passing Lawsuit Reform legislation last year, Ron interviews Richard "Dick" Weekley, the founder of Texans for Lawsuit Reform , who presented Senator Lucio with their "Leadership Award," about more pending legislation initiatives addressing lawsuit reform, and the question as to why Valley doctors have yet to see any big differences in their Malpractice Insurance Premiums.

Joining Senator Lucio on this show were also Rick Rodriguez, the new mayor of Harlingen, Jim Springfield, the CEO of Valley Baptist Health Systems, Frank Boggus, the founder of Boggus Ford, and Bob Shepard, all of whom gave comments and congratulations to the Senator on his support of Lawsuit reform, and what it means to the Valley's businesses and doctors.

At the end of the show, Frank Boggus and Bob Shepard were interviewed briefly, from Boggus Ford in Harlingen, about their recollections of President Ronald Reagan's influence in the Valley, and on Texas.  The next edition of "Valley NewsLine" will be concentrating solely on this topic.
