V.A.M.O.S. with Valley Mentors

For this edition of "Valley NewsLine with Ron Whitlock," Alonzo Cantu joined Ron todiscuss the four trips President Bill Clinton made to the Rio Grande Valley, and their importance to the Valley, as well as V.A.M.O.S. (Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities and Scholarships).  VAMOS is an annual scholarship program organized and funded by mentors to the students in the Rio Grande Valey, who provide full four-year scholarships to low-income hispanic high school graduates in the Valley, as well as advice and help to the students in their studies.  Also joining Ron for in this edition was Johnny Oliva, the chairman for the board of directors for VAMOS

This News/Analysis/political program pointed out that 99 valley students have received college scholarships and mentoring from VAMOS and its members since it was founded to help students in need of financial assistance, receive a college education.  For more information on VAMOS please visit VAMOS on the Hispanic Scholarship Fund website.
