This Valley NewsLine featured an exclusive interview with the two candidates for the 27th Congressional District of Texas, 11-term Congressional Incumbent Solomon Ortiz (Democrat) from Portland, TX, and his opponent Willie Vaden (Republican) from Ingleside, TX.
For the latter parts of the show, we re-broadcast clips from the Congressional Debate forum produced by KRGV's NewsChannel 5. The clips focussed on the questions and answers provided by the candidates, and directed to their opponents, from Congressional District 15, Democratic Incumbent Ruben Hinojosa from Mercedes, TX, and his Republican opponent Michael Thamm from Cuerro, TX, as well as the candidates from the new Congressional District 25, Democratic Incumbent Lloyd Dogett from Austin, TX, and his Republican opponent Rebecca Armendariz-Klein from Austin.
